For sales orders that require buyouts (ordering material from a vendor to fill a sales order), you can quickly create buyout purchase orders and requests for quotes right from the order entry screen. Upon entering a buyout line in the sales order screen, you will be prompted for a vendor and vendor price. If you have that information, enter it in. Once the order is finished, a purchase order will be created automatically for you; no extra work necessary. If you do not know the vendor or vendor price at the time of sales order entry, print off an RFQ and fax, or email (directly from MetalTrax) it to a vendor. Once a response is received, create a purchase order buyout. All that is required in those screens are the vendor and vendor price and the purchase order is created automatically again.
